  • Analysis of case examples of supervisory practice
  • Input about supervision contracts and records
  • Supervision role-plays

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will have a good understanding of the main definitions of social work supervision.
  • They will be more aware of their supervisory experience and how this might be impacting their supervision.
  • Participants will have a better appreciation of the main functions of social work supervision.
  • They will better understand the use of contracts and records as essential part of social work supervision practice.
  • They will have an improved awareness of their supervisory practice and those aspects they would like to improve in their practice.

Course Trainers

Professor Maureen Cole, B.A. (Melit.), B.Soc.Wk.(Hons.) (Monash), Ph.D.(UEA), is an associate professor in social work, Department of Social Policy and Social Work, Faculty for Social Wellbeing, University of Malta. Her main teaching responsibilities centre on social work theory and practice, and on social work supervision. Maureen’s main research focus is the practice and experience of social work supervision. She also maintains a small supervisory practice. She has been involved in social work supervision education and training for over twenty years.
